About Us

Let us build peace through practical solidarity.

Since 1994, supporting those most in need

The history of the Collettivo Azione Pace (CAP) began in Turin in 1994, when the war in the former Yugoslavia prompted a group of friends to take action rather than remain indifferent. Their first humanitarian trips to refugee camps in Croatia marked the start of a commitment that soon developed into a secular, non-partisan voluntary organisation.

United across borders

For CAP, peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but an ongoing journey built through relationships, listening and solidarity. Over the years, we have brought together people of Italian and Balkan origin to transform emergency aid into bridges of friendship and integration.

Our work in the field

Reception and Healthcare

Through the Biće Boljeproject, we support children with serious illnesses and their families throughout their treatment at the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin.

Education and the Culture of Peace

We promote mutual understanding and the values of living together through school visits, seminars, film clubs and community integration initiatives.

Local Presence and Support

We provide logistical, administrative and personal support to the families we host, working in collaboration with a transparent network of partners and third-sector organisations.

BIĆE BOLJE — “It will get better”

Launched in 2000 to meet the healthcare needs of children from the Balkans suffering from complex medical conditions, the BIĆE BOLJE project provides comprehensive care for young patients and their parents.

We specialise in:

  • Administrative procedures: Visas, residence permits and agreements with local health authorities (ASL).
  • Logistical and financial support: Accommodation, transport, schooling and living expenses.
  • Cultural Mediation: Language support and constant support for the family.

To date, we have supported 28 children and young people (aged between 3 and 18) and their families on their journey towards recovery and peace of mind.
